"All the B12 in meat comes from supplements."

Weak or false science

They make claims about the body or nutrition that the evidence does not support. When they fall, they take the speaker's credibility with them.

Why it is weak

It's an exaggeration. Farmed pigs and chickens get B12 in their feed, but in cattle B12 is produced by bacteria in the rumen from cobalt, which doesn't always need to be added.

The true point is more modest and enough: B12 comes from bacteria, and much of what reaches meat eaters went through supplements given to the animals.

How to say it better

B12 is made by bacteria, not by animals. Taking a supplement just gets the same vitamin without the middleman.
