Weak or false science
They make claims about the body or nutrition that the evidence does not support. When they fall, they take the speaker's credibility with them.
Why it is weak
It takes the focus off the animals and appeals to the listener's self-interest.
It makes a scientific claim with no serious studies, ignores factors like stress and depression, and assumes every vegan diet is light.
It reinforces a thin body ideal, discriminating against fat people, and cheapens the debate.
How to say it better
Talk about who is harmed. Being vegan isn't a beauty program.
